An Acheivement to be really proud of
Gremlin has earned the Border Terrier Club of America Field Sporting Certificate (FSC) for flushing upland game between October 2010 and October 2011!
Our thanks to the Border Terrier Club of America (BTCA) Committee that reviewed the application and approved it.
According to the BTCA website, Gremlin is the seventh Border Terrier to receive this honour, with the second one having been awarded to Jo Ann and Scrimmage. We might have to cook a grouse and share it with Gremlin to help him celebrate.
The local chapter of the SPCA has benefitted from our 'brag'!

2011 BTCA Specialty Achievements, Chino Valley AZ, September 11-15, 2011
With some much appreciated grooming help from Lyn Bolt and Jan Hewitt, Gremlin more than made up for our absence by taking a very nice fourth place in both his 7-10 years Veteran Sweeps class (judge Amanda Pough) and Regular Veterans class (judge Ronnie Irving)

Support for local show pays off
Gremlin did his owners (and Gizmo's memory) proud with a Group 4th at the Fort St. John & District Kennel Club show May 23, 2010 (judge Bud Haverstock)

A "Special" weekend
Making his debut as a "Special" at the Fort St. John & District Kennel Club shows (6 shows in 3 days),
Gremlin did darn nicely thank you! He and a young, pretty female Champion (CH Brrams Viktry'n the Nik'a Tyme)
were the only two BT's entered. On Saturday, Best of Breed in show one (judge Maida Puterman) went to the lady, but in show two, the
red, white and blue was awarded to Gremmie by Kim Ramey-Leblanc. The same pattern followed on Sunday with round one to
the "pretty young thing" (judge Judith Hunt - no relative) and round two (judge Charles Hunt - Judy's husband but no relation to Tony & Beth) (plus media interview) to the "handsome big boy"
No reason not to expect similar results on Monday under husband and wife team Marilynn and Everett K. Mincey! but...........
In Beth's words
"We joked that we were taking turns with the BOB ribbons, but then
this morning the judge chose my gorgeous boy first, so I was thinking
that it would be Liz's turn next . . . but they chose the Grem
again!! Nothing in the Group for me, but the fact that they liked my
Grem-stud over the cute little champ really makes us proud! With all
of my bragging this weekend, the South Peace SPCA will be the
benefactor and pretty happy too! Thank you all for the well wishes,
and when the pictures are processed, we'll make sure a couple get
posted!!

It's Official
Owner handled from the "backwoods of BC"! Tony and Beth have every reason to be proud. Gremlin picked up the last two points for his Canadian Championship (plus a spare) at the Lakes District Kennel Club shows on May 7 and 8, 2005 under judges Leslie Rogers, Merlin Vandekinder, and Donna Cole.

Way to Go Out West!
Being isolated from most of the group (as well as most everything else except Grizzly bears) was no deterrent to Beth and Gremlin. They put best foot forward at the Fort St. John & District Kennel Club Dog Shows,
held in Taylor BC, May 22, 23, 24 (judges: Fred Dewsbury, Denise Cornelssen, Leslie Rogers, and Maurice Tougas) and came away with eight points! Despite that success, no-one underestimates the challenge of getting the last two points given their location and the scarecity of shows, but with the determination they have shown so far it can only be a matter of time and patience.
