Flying Free !!!
Not bad for nine plus years !!

"All stretched out" and "Making do" Parker and Higgs take a less energetic approach.

Now who does this remind you of ??

It's a Roger-Copper boy - Simon by name, sweet tempered but game

Guess who's coming for dinner (and more)

Practice Makes Perfect

Saturday was training day with lots of expert help and opportunity to work through a variety of issues.
Several JJ dogs made significant progress and all had a good time. The day ended with a terrific BBQ.

Gunter leaves the false den, Senorita gets impatient.

Colin working nose to the ground - he was a Bindi's brace-mate.

Bindi, going...

...going...

...gone!

Perfect end to a great day

Roger enjoys the evening sunshine

While Chisel hopes for handouts

Let the Fun Begin!

Sunday was games day with many innovative ways for the dogs to develop their earthdog and ratting instincts, to say nothing of self confidence. It was also an opportunity to take time out and chat with local JJ members.
A superb Pig Roast ended the day

So many choices!

The competitive climax of the day

Midge exudes correct Border expression.

Sophie saluting Boomerang... or scratching?

Roger approves of "Fox in a Box"
(fox pelt and mask on a stick)

Sophie shows her "not so soft" side (and her "pearly whites")

Hazel finds the "junk yard" challenging

Her mom (Scrimmage) fared somewhat better

Boomer waiting almost patiently for the party to begin

"This little piggy!" - the tasty truth behind prepackaging!

Change the decor and this could be a "hunters feast" from history!

Monday's Game

Was an AWTA Den Trial at which Higgs earned his Certificate of Gameness while most of us just hung out, shopped, did "tick checks" on our dogs and generally "refueled"

"You've got to be kidding" and "something to crow about"

A familiar sight as you pull up to Village Green Farm

Up the Creek

Owing to a less than favourable forecast and early morning rain, the majority of people opted out of the Canoe Trip. For the four who went it was a beautiful paddle on the Wading River in the New Jersey Pine Barrens, the weather was perfect and stayed that way all through the ice cream stop on the way home.

Ready to go! Probably Gunter's favourite day

Boomer's eye view of the beautiful Wading River

"A hunting we will go"

Wednesday was probably the "best day ever" in certain terrier eyes. At the Tree Farm we split into two groups, each with some experienced people and a good hole dog. Both groups were successful. This was Lisa's first real look at the reason behind Earthdog Tests.

Boomer getting "up close and personal" - her work was ably assisted by Anke - queen of the "PHD's"

Experienced steady hands, hot action, timing and teamwork! The key to safe, successful, humane hunting.

Lisa digs in and two Borders demonstrate real honouring (no extra leashes or "coddling" hovering owners).

Reassuring hands give confidence to Senorita, a young, novice Jack Russell as she enters a steep den to fulfill her heritage.

Bring on the "Big Guns"!
Chisel knows his job well and accomplishes it admirably - his role well rehearsed and polished.

Down time and "Back to School"

Thursday saw a small goup head out to deal with a local "nuisance" chuck, while others simply relaxed. Friday was AKC ED Seminar day - a well run, well attended event from which many JJ members were able to benefit

Iris in full bloom

Higgs and Daisy hang out

Maggie and Hazel on guard while Roger snoozes

Boomer complains about confinement while Gunter relaxes.

Harry - a handsome study as he enjoys the shade and attention

A great way to Finish

The week ended up with back-to-back AKC ED Tests hosted by NBTC and NJBEC respectively. Success was subjective with some qualifying legs and some lessons learned but all competed safely. Our sincere thanks to the Murza family and all the hard working volunteers who made this week possible.

Check out Daisy's and Higgs' brag pages to see how they made out in Senior Earthdosg.

For Colin, success is demolishing yet another dowel

For Bindi, success is a very promising Master debut

For Roger, success is finding a suitable lap and vantage point

Good Times are a Coming

Gordie post surgery - looking forward to good times

Saro/Rosie in her new homedreaming of good times

Mel, Marion and Medrick having a good time !!!!!!!
